Description:
This is a 2018 Hermann Hauser Guitar. It is a special instrument that actually makes a person a better player. Each string has its own voice and everything resonates with tremendous colors and overtones. A wrongly played bass note is immediately evident to the player, and this leads to correction of these notes, which are often less noticed and end up being incorrectly played on other guitars.
It is clear why the Hauser family has been regarded as master guitar builders now for five generations. Their reputation was first established, starting with Andres Segovia who described his Hauser as “the guitar of the epoch.” It was this guitar that replaced Segovia’s beloved Manuel Ramirez. These guitars are on display at the Metropolitan Mueum of Art in New York City. At the request of Segovia’s widow, the displayed guitars are not to be played, as the Maestro (as Segovia was often called) is no longer with us. Fortunately, Hermann Hauser and his daughter Kathrin Hauser faithfully carry on the time honored tradition of building these fabulous instruments, and the quality of their sound is immediately evident even to novice audiences. They are of such quality and popularity that the Hausers have a waiting list lasting several years (7-8 years at last check.)
